Art

KSA’s office includes a “collaborative studies” space that has been donated to local artists as free studio space since KSA opened in this location in 2012. The idea is to promote the visual arts in Saskatoon by providing free studio space and to create a studio atmosphere allowing for collaboration between the artists and the staff at KSA.

Artwork:    Poker Painting

“I set out to make a painting that could win a competition through purely physical means. A series of gears and levers are concealed within this painting’s stretcher. When a viewer’s motion activates this system, pokers protrude from the sides of the painting. These pokers reach out with the intention of knocking neighbouring paintings from their hanging hardware and onto the floor.”
