Who we are.

Inspired by art and popular culture and grounded in a multi-decade career in architecture, Kent Sutherland established KSA Group in 2011 after moving home to Saskatchewan province to raise his family.

Today KSA consists of a talented roster of professionals that have worked on major building projects all across BC, AB and SK. The team itself has been assembled around Kent’s unique passion for beautiful design, and persistence to always deliver incredible projects.

Our firm believes collaboration is at the core of our most successful projects. Over the past 10 years we’ve built an on-demand roster of local and national expertise for clients to choose from. This helps us offer the best possible outcome and experience for any, size, type, and scope of project.

 

  • We work closely with Laura Derosier, the Principal for D-Code Engineering. A Saskatchewan firm thats been specializing in Building Code consulting since 2010.

  • At KSA, we are proud to highlight our collaborative partnership with RAUM Architects, led by the talented Milos Raonic. Our relationship, spanning over a decade, exemplifies a seamless integration of skills and resources. Together, we have developed a dynamic system of support, exchanging architectural drawings to manage workloads effectively. This synergy not only enhances our capabilities but also enriches our architectural solutions.

  • Ben Francis and from Red Pelican Building Science is in expert in building energy modelling and helps our projects with paths to compliance & how they might impact our approach to design.

  • LMDG provides professional building code, fire protection, life safety and accessibility consulting services to architects, engineers, building owners, developers, contractors, government agencies, insurers and lawyers.

  • We’ve frequently worked close with Brisbin Brook Beynon Architects. They’re a full service architectural firm specializing in master planning, architectural design, interior design, and project management.

  • Coupland Kraemer Architecture + Interior Design is an architectural and interior design firm with proven knowledge and expertise in a diverse range of projects, they’ve helped us on multiple projects over the years.

  • Erin Bokshowan from MLT Atkins consistently delivers timely and quality legal advice to our team and projects.

  • Saskatoon photography/video studio King Rose Visuals has worked closely with us for the past 3+ years. They help us capture buildings in various stages as well as provide drone photography more more realistic rendering placements.

  • We work closely with Cody Schumacher from Howard & Lloyd when a project of ours requires graphic design, marketing, or just another creative opinion.

 
 
 

Surrounded by & supporting artists.

Our office surrounds our staff with a selection of art curated to inspire a greater level of creativity.

We’ve also spent years supporting the local art community here in Saskatoon by providing free studio space to create a studio atmosphere allowing for collaboration between the artists and KSA. KSA then purchases a piece from each of the artists – and proudly displays it in our offices. A few of our artists in residence over the years have been David Dyck, Emma Johnson, Shelby Lund, and Marcel Petit.

Giving back.

Over the years KSA has tried our best to provide support back to our community. Whether it’s the First Nation Scholarships we’ve provided, our consistent support of the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra, or our pro bono work with Stewart Properties, we’re proud to do our part when possible to help further our own community and the people in it.
